Information Technology

One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man. – Elbert Hubbard

In the Beginning

IT and I go back to the year of our lord 1991. That was when my father bought me an 8088 XT. It had a 4 colour video card. DOS 1.0 would be loaded in the 64 K RAM via a 5.25″ floppy disk every time the computer was restarted. A mouse was something you would see running across the room. Janitor Joe and Banner Mania were the order of the day.

Twenty five years later many things have changed – and many have remained.

Present Day

Currently I am a Systems Administrator working with Wintel based servers, OS and applications.  Some of the main technologies I work with are Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM / SCOM, Citrix, VMware to name a few.

I have worked on small to mid to large size environments delivering new infrastructure and supporting existing environments.
